Support the Event

May 2, 2018

To Whom It May Concern:

The City of Glenwood Springs River Commission (River Commission) serves the community through the investigation, study, and advising of City Council on any and all matters concerning the use, enjoyment, preservation and conservation of the rivers and streams in the City and its environs adjacent thereto.  With two major rivers and numerous creeks running through our community, we are proud to play a part in the recognition and preservation of these great natural resources.

The River Commission’s top community involvement event is our annual river clean-up RiverFEST.  The event is an annual tradition of stewardship and celebration of the rivers in our community since the year 2000.  On August 4th volunteer teams will gather to either float or walk the banks of the Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers, removing accumulated debris and beautifying the waterways of our City.  Afterwards, all volunteers will meet at Two River Park at around 12:00 PM for a river celebration including free lunch, live music, and vendors from throughout the watershed.

Expenses for the event are covered by our local sponsors and the City of Glenwood Springs.  Therefore, we need your help in addressing costs, particularly those which help provide a great experience for our volunteers and allow us to more effectively advertise the event.  We are requesting you sponsor the event with a $100 or more donation.  In exchange for your support, your business logo will be displayed on all advertisements, posters, and on our social media outreach. You will also have the option to display your banner or set up a booth or table during the RiverFEST celebration.

We are utilizing a team format for the event and are requesting your help with the solicitation and coordination of both financial support and volunteers from your organization.  Please designate a team leader and alternate to seek out volunteers and coordinate the details of the event with the River Commission moving forward.  On the day of the event, the team leader will organize volunteers and hand out supplies at the predetermined clean-up location. Team leaders can register their team for the clean-up at www.cogs.us/riverfest

Any financial donations should be made out to the “City of Glenwood Springs” with “RiverFEST Donation” in the memo line.  A receipt from the City will be made out to you upon processing the donation.

Thank you for your consideration of support. We certainly hope you will motivate your employees to join us on August 4th.  Please feel free to contact us at 970.384.6427 with any questions or visit www.cogs.us/riverfest for more event details.

Best Regards,
