The goal of the project is to improve the experience for recreational and family users of the park. The project will provide better public access along the river, excavate out old buried industrial materials that have become exposed from shoreline erosion, construct riparian design elements to protect and beautify the shoreline and make a number of improvements to the park amenities including:
Protected family play stream and lazy river
Expanded and improved boat ramp
River access trails and protected beach areas
Boat ramp area restroom
Improved amphitheater for park concerts and events
The City of Glenwood Springs is working with SGM, REP, and LandStudio for the planning of the project. Council will discuss proposed elements of the project at a work session on May 2nd. The project is anticipated to go out to bid early Fall of 2019.
